Be a Warrior! Help us Fight DIPG!

CURE CHILDHOOD CANCER MANITOBA LICENSE PLATE

Today was an emotional day.

We at Madox’s Warriors are excited to finally see the Childhood Cancer Awareness plates on Manitoba streets, the first province in Canada to see this happen.

We started thinking about this licence plate campaign after losing our son Madox to DIPG, an aggressive and deadly childhood brain tumour. We pushed forward with MPI after listening to different parents and extended families who wanted something concrete to support and represent children going through the fight of their lives.

These plates are honouring and representing those children who have lost their lives to cancer, those currently fighting, and those who will one day be diagnosed.

We were pleased to be hosted by Jeff Wharton (Minister of Crown Services), and supported by Wayne Ewasko (MLA, Lac du Bonnet) and James Teitsma (MLA for Radisson) Thank you! Thank you to Benjamin Hofer for helping us with the design.

The plate design features a bright gold ribbon (the colour for childhood cancer) and the ‘Cure Childhood Cancer’ phrase across the bottom. The MW are the initials for our charity

The new plates, which are administered by Manitoba Public Insurance, will be available for purchase today. The cost of each set of plates will be $70, with $30 from every plate purchase going toward the Madox’s Warriors Foundation, which is committed to consulting with the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba and CancerCare Manitoba to determine how funds would best be utilized prior to making donation decisions.
