Be a Warrior! Help us Fight DIPG!

Tyler Palmowski

Our son Tyler, was only 8 years old when he was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor called medulloblastoma. No parent ever expects to hear the words “your child has cancer”. Our world shattered that day. Tyler underwent numerous surgeries, proton radiation and chemotherapy for just over a year. On July 2016 Tyler finished all his treatments. Everything was looking up. Life was getting back to normal so to speak.

Then it hit us again….
On March 6,2020 after an MRI our world shattered again. They found a new growth in Tyler’s brain. DIPG. We were devastated. Why was this happening to our sweet boy again. Tyler was so confused and scared. We were told to go home and make memories…. we were heart broken and devastated.
Unfortunately, on November 24, 2020 our son passed away in our arms at home surround by his family.

Tyler was the most caring little boy. He stuck up for kids being bullied at school and was always there to help anyone in need. He loved being around family, especially his younger brother and sister. He would help me plan parties, right down to all the food we were going to serve. Tyler had a love for fishing, hunting, camping and hockey.  He lived for summers at the lake and winters ice fishing and playing hockey.

Tyler dreamed of becoming a pilot when he was older. He was able to taxi a jumbo jet and fly a small plane while he was fighting DIPG. Two experiences that made his dreams come true.
